Greenbelt festival

JRI was at Greenbelt (a Christian festival on Cheltenham racecourse) from Friday through Monday at the end of August, with a stand (pictured). Claire Ashton led the JRI presence, assisted by some Associates including Elizabeth Perry, Richard Weaver, and staff.

This year’s Greenbelt theme was “Saving Paradise” (taken from a book with ecological themes) and there were a few explicitly environment-related talks, most of them held at the “Eden” venue. These included two presentations by a Benedictine abbot and a Franciscan on the greening of their houses and institutions. Despite torrential rain one day the festival was well attended and a number of visitors signed up to receive JRI News.
