Climate briefing: new edition
The latest science of climate change and understanding of the action required is described by Sir John Houghton in a revised (3rd) edition of the JRI Briefing Paper (number 14) entitled Climate Change and Sustainability.
Printed copies (16 pages in colour) are available from the JRI office at £3 including postage. This authoritative and clearly explained account could make an excellent gift for a minister or vicar, or a sceptical friend at work.
The threat from global warming and climate change is increasingly recognised as the largest single peril facing the world at the present time. In December of this year 2009, the nations are meeting in Copenhagen to agree what action needs to be taken. Will they be able to agree? Will they be able set in train the necessary action with adequate urgency to avoid the worst of the damages to human communities (especially the world’s poorest that will be hit the hardest) and to the non human creation? Because this Copenhagen conference and its preparation are so critical, this year 2009 has been described by Tom Burke and many others concerned with the problem as the most important year ever in world history.
The latest science of climate change and understanding of the action now required is described by Sir John Houghton in a revised edition of JRI Briefing Paper 14 that can be downloaded here.
