You can use a credit card or debit card (or PayPal) to make a donation to JRI online. The transaction is handled through the secure PayPal system. After clicking a Donation button you will see a ‘Donation Amount’ box. Type your chosen amount here, and then click ‘Update Totals’. After that click ‘Continue’ (near text “Use your credit card…”) and the next screen will ask for your credit card details. Alternatively, if you have a PayPal account, use that login.
If you have not previously made a Gift Aid declaration to JRI please read this paragraph. When you donate using a Gift Aid button you agree to JRI applying for Gift Aid on this and any future donation. The Gift Aid scheme allows charities to reclaim the basic rate income tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). To be eligible you must be resident in the UK (or a Crown servant or member of the UK armed forces serving overseas). You must pay enough UK income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the amount of tax the charity reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (currently 28p for each pound you give). You can cancel this Declaration at any time by notifying the charity. Please notify the charity if you change your name or address.
Or rather than a one-off donation you can set up a regular gift. To be a “Friend of JRI” the recommended minimum donation is 15 pounds a year. Friends of JRI can opt to receive paper mailings instead of email.
Postal Giving
By post you can give to JRI by cheque, by standing order, or by direct debit. This printable donations form includes Standing Order and Gift Aid declaration on the same page. It is also available as RTF document.
