The John Ray Gallery
In 1986, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the publication of Ray’s Historia Plantarum
there was a celebration of Ray’s legacy in Braintree. A souvenir folio about Ray was prepared by Mrs Valerie Carpenter, and published by Braintree Council. A few folios may remain, costing £1.45 only.
At Braintree Museum a ‘John Ray Gallery’ was opened. The curator is Leslie Killin.
